Your court transcript order includes details about a legal proceeding. That's sensitive, and we treat it that way. This page explains — in plain language — what we collect, who sees it, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
ordermytranscript.ca is an independent ordering service run by Joe Kelly in Ontario, Canada. We connect people who need certified Ontario court transcripts with certified Authorized Court Transcriptionists (ACTs). We are not affiliated with the Ministry of the Attorney General or the official ACT registry. Questions about this policy: orders@ordermytranscript.ca.
What we collect
Only what you type into the order form:
- About the proceeding: courthouse, level of court, case name, court file number, dates, courtroom or judge, what part of the transcript you need, and why you need it.
- Your order choices: delivery speed and format.
- About you: your name, email, and phone number (phone is optional).
Our analytics tool (Plausible) counts visits without cookies and without identifying you personally. We don't run advertising trackers.
Why we collect it
- To give you a cost estimate and email you a confirmation of your order.
- To share your order with a certified transcriptionist so they can respond to you.
- To keep basic records of orders so we can make sure someone actually responded.
Who we share it with — and who we don't
Your order details are shared with the certified Authorized Court Transcriptionist(s) invited to take your order, so they can contact you and produce your transcript. That is the entire point of the service, and it's the only sharing we do.
We never sell your information. We never share it with advertisers. Our email and storage run on Amazon Web Services, which processes data on our behalf under its own security commitments.
How long we keep it
We delete your order details 90 days after your order is closed. If you never complete an order, partial information isn't stored at all — the form only sends data when you press submit.
How we protect it
Your connection to this site is encrypted (HTTPS), order data is encrypted where it's stored, and only the people who need your order to fulfil it can see it.
Your choices
Email orders@ordermytranscript.ca at any time to ask what we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll answer within a few business days. Note that once your order is with your transcriptionist, they keep their own records under their own professional obligations — deleting our copy doesn't delete theirs.
Complaints
We follow Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA). If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
